Personal Management Merit Badge Class Outline & Notes
 

The class work for the Personal Management merit badge course is squeezed into approximately 6 to 7 sessions held at Troop Meetings.  In addition, there are three (3) separate assignments that must be prepared at home: Nos. 1, 2 possibily 5 and 8.

No. 1 - Shopping Strategy;

No. 2 - 13 Week Budget (Income & Expenses Ledger)

No. 8 – A 7 day Time Management Ledger

No. 9 -  Written Project Plan

Session 1   Introduction & Requirement 3 (11/19/07)

 

Session 2   Saving, Investing, Risk and Interest -

Requirement 4 - Then Homework Activity Requirement #1 (Write a shopping strategy).

 

Session 3    Long-Term Investment Tools & Other Savings - Requirement 5 and 6 - Then briefly discuss Requirement No. 2 to prepare for next session. 

 

Session 4  Types & Uses Of Credit - Intro To 13 Week Project

Requirements 7 & 2

 

Session 5  Written Project Plan

Requirement 9 (I beleive #9 can be done in class)

 

Sessions 6 & 7 - Requirement 8 - Time Management Assignment & Financial Careers

 

Two more class sessions will be scheduled toward the end of the 13 week session.  Preferably not to overlap Requirement 2 and Requirement 8.
