Four teams of 8 started their back country backpacking trek on the morning of February 17. It was a slippery, snowy 5:00 AM departure from Nashville; but, we pulled ahead of the snow front around Crossville, TN. Each team had a different destination within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. All of the teams woke up to about 7" of snow Sunday morning. Two more experienced teams continued their journey for another night. The experience, although cold, was a good one. COngratulations to Russ Little's Team and Rich Brown's Team for completing the two night journey.
